The T9261-E is an industry-leading live OTT streaming media encoder. The encoder supports High Deï¬nition and Standard Deï¬nition (NTSC/PAL) video encoding.
IP stream protocol support includes multicast or unicast UDP/RTP, SRT, Zixi Feeder, RTMP, HLS, and TCP. The T9261-E can encode two streams from its single SDI input. Each encoder can use a different protocol, CODEC and deliver unique frame size, frame rate and bit rate services to either Gigabit Ethernet interface.
Boasting two independent Gigabit Ethernet ports, the T9261-E is ideal for use across private and public networks. Network security is a priority at T-21. All T-21 devices include the latest network security patches, HTTPS web server plus user options to disable SSH, SAMBA and PING. OpenVPN is included and can be used without the need for an optional VPN appliance. T-21 offers ongoing patches that include network security updates with new ï¬rmware features included for a modestly priced SLA1.
The T9261-E is designed for broadcast and professional encoding and delivery over public or private networks. One 3G HD-SDI input delivers uncompressed 1080P/1080i/720P, NTSC or PAL video and embedded audio to the encoders. The T9261-E is optimized to encode at very low and very high bit-rates. Video CODECs include 1080P AVC (H264) and 1080i MPEG 2. Ancillary data support for closed captions and SCTE1042 cue messages embedded in SDI.
Audio encode support for up to four PIDs or 8-channels3. Audio CODEC support includes MPEG 1/2, AAC-LC/HE with optional Dolby Digital encode.
The T9261-E compresses video using industry standard AVC and MPEG 2 CODECs.

The T9261-E includes a RTMP client. RTMP facilitates streaming to cloud and local RTMP servers or a T9261-D directly.
HTTP Live Streaming is pervasive across the streaming media industry. HLS is used by iOS and other consumer devices for streaming media. The T9261-E provides the encoding of video and audio, a segmenter creates the HLS chunks and manifest and the HTTP server facilitates direct serving of the HLS streams to client devices. If a small number of clients are required, the T9261-E can deliver direct HTTP streaming media to consumer devices.
Secure Reliable Transport is an open standard that is supported through the SRT Alliance. As a member, T-21 and our devices support SRT and all three transport modes including: Caller, Listener and Rendezvous. SRT enables low delay, reliable and encrypted streaming media transport over high jitter lossy networks including the internet. SRT devices support point to point links allowing a single T-21 encoder and T-21 decoder to deliver high quality streaming media links. T-21 devices are compatible with third-party SRT gateway servers for point to multi-point applications. There is no cost or royalties associated with the use of SRT and its standard on all T-21 devices.
Zixi is a leading commercial platform for reliable delivery of streaming media in point to multi-point applications across high jitter lossy networks including the public internet. The Zixi Broadcaster is a cloud or server based gateway that is fed by the T9261-E. T-21 decoders support Zixi receive enabling a point to multi point delivery solution across the internet.
Local subnet unicast or multi-cast transmission of streaming media is supported with the T9261-E. IGMP support with include and exclude listing is standard.
The T9261-E also supports MPEG 2 video encoding. MPEG 2 is the standard for ATSC and many DVB distribution platforms.
T-21’s advanced HTML5 compliant web server supports configuration and monitoring of T-21 devices through the use of modern HTML5 compliant browsers including Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
Operating on top of a Linux OS, T-21’s applications are feature rich and purpose engineered to be robust and reliable.
